About me
Hello, I'm Emma Pearson
I trained with the Academy of Modern Celebrants after a huge life and career change.
I live near Brighton in the Sussex countryside, where I was born and grew up.
Previously I worked as a garden designer and I was also a counsellor, specialising in grief and loss, and I have had many decades of working with people in all kinds of situations.
I am a writer, currently working on my first book, and I love using my writing skills to create beautiful and meaningful ceremonies for funerals, memorials, naming ceremonies and weddings.
I hope to bring sensitivity, imagination and humour to your ceremony, and it is my great honour to be able to offer these services.
Funeral Ceremonies
I qualified through the Academy of Modern Celebrants, and I can host and officiate funerals and memorial services.
As a funeral celebrant, I collaborate with families to craft a personalised service that honours their loved ones.
I gather stories and personal details to ensure the ceremony reflects their unique life. I plan each aspect, including readings and music, while providing compassionate support to help families find comfort and closure during this difficult time.
I am also able to play a crucial role in crafting a unique memorial service that honours the life and legacy of a loved one.
By taking the time to understand the deceased's personality, values, and the stories that define them, I can create a personalised service that resonates with family and friends.
This might include incorporating favourite songs, readings, or rituals that hold special significance. Additionally, a celebrant can facilitate opportunities for attendees to share memories, allowing for a collective remembrance that celebrates the individual's impact on their lives.
The aim is to create an atmosphere of love and reflection, providing a space for healing and connection as participants come together to celebrate a life well-lived.

Wedding Ceremonies
The beauty of a Celebrant led wedding is your choice of ‘venue’ does not have to be licensed to hold weddings. How exciting is that? You have complete freedom of choice.
I trained through the Academy of Modern Celebrants, and this has given me the skills to help you to realise the dream of a ceremony held in a beautiful woodland glade, with bird song as your music?
Or a favourite beach and the sound of waves? Yours or your families garden, on a farm, or even a museum. There might even be somewhere that invokes happy childhood memories.
Are you early birds? Have you considered a sunrise ceremony? There’s no backdrop as beautiful and romantic as the rising of the sun. Or imagine ending your special day with a twilight ceremony as the sun is setting and the first stars appear. You get the picture…Anything goes!
I am skilled in thinking creatively and outside of the usual norms. I can also offer really traditional weddings with a twist, or whatever your dreams hold!

Naming Ceremonies
As a Celebrant, I am dedicated to creating meaningful and personalised ceremonies that honour the arrival of a new life, a change of identity, or a blending of families, or the adoption of a child.
I collaborate closely with families to understand their values and desires, making sure each ceremony tells their unique story. My responsibilities include writing heartfelt scripts, guiding families throughout the process, and creating a warm and inviting environment. Together, we build cherished memories that celebrate the joy of naming a child.
My ceremonies provide a meaningful way to celebrate new beginnings and affirm personal journeys. For individuals transitioning, a naming ceremony can validate their chosen name and identity, creating a supportive space for family and friends to embrace this change.
In the context of adoption, I can craft a ceremony that symbolises the unconditional love and commitment of the adoptive family, marking the child's new identity within the family unit.
For blended families, these ceremonies can foster unity, allowing children to feel welcomed and valued as they take on new family names or roles.
By personalising each ceremony to reflect the unique stories of the individuals involved, I can create heartfelt experiences that honour and celebrate love, acceptance, and new beginnings.
